Seasonal emoji reactions—Windows, Mac, and Linux

To add some festive cheer, we're giving reactions a seasonal makeover. You'll see these changes for all reactions on Windows, Mac, and Linux from December 8 to December 31. (On mobile, reactions use the Android or iOS emojis so we aren't updating those reactions.)

If you'd prefer to turn this option off, contact feature-feedback@cisco.com before December 10.

This is only available using the December release builds.

Labels for navigation icons—Windows and Mac

Easily show or hide the new navigation menu labels, collapse the column to icons to maximize your screen space, or expand it to see the icons and their labels. Just hover and click the arrow to the right of the column for a different viewing experience.

Bitmoji in messages—Windows and Mac

Have you ever wished you could use your Bitmoji at work too? Well now you can! If you have a Snapchat account set up with Bitmoji, you can use those credentials to link your account and use your own unique stickers in Webex App messages.

This feature must be enabled by your system administrator.

Poly headset support—Windows

We're continuing to add support for more types of headsets. Now, you can use the Poly Voyager 5200 headset to answer and end your calls as well as mute and unmute yourself during calls.

EPOS headset support—VDI

We're continuing to add support for more types of headsets. Now, you can use EPOS headsets to answer and end your calls as well as mute and unmute yourself during calls.

See when you've missed a call—iPhone and Android

When you miss a call, you see a missed call badge on the app icon of your Home screen and on the Calling tab when you're in the app. When you open the Calling tab to view your missed calls, the missed call badge disappears.


The following feature applies to Webex Calling and Calling hosted by a Service Provider:

Update your emergency location (U.S. users)—iPad and Android tablets

Webex App knows when you change locations and prompts you to update your address. That way, if you make an emergency call from the app, emergency services receives accurate location information and can help you out in a timely manner.

This is a requirement of the Ray Baum's act that all U.S. companies must comply with starting in January 2022.

The following feature applies to Calling hosted by a Service Provider:

Let Someone Else Control Your Computer—Windows and Mac

Want help troubleshooting a problem? Just hop on a call or jump into a space and share your screen. You can then grant that person control of your computer and watch the person's mouse move over your screen. They can even use keyboard shortcuts to move around your app. When they're done, you can take back that control at anytime.

Customize your background—VDI

Give your background some personality when you're sharing your video during calls. Not only can you continue to choose one of our preset backgrounds but you can now upload up to 3 images of your own. Just make sure they're in one of the following formats: jpg, jpe, jpeg, or png.

Move around freely when you're on a call—Linux

When you're on an active call and you need to change networks but want to keep the call in Webex, no need to worry; the change is made automatically without any interruption or effect to call quality.

Connect to a Calendar—Windows and Mac

You can manage your meetings and events from your Microsoft 365 calendar directly in Webex App. Connect to the calendar in the Meetings settings in the app and you'll see your meetings and events in the Meetings tab. If your admin has already set up your calendar for you, you won't be able to change it.

Increase or decrease the number of participants you see in Side by side and Stack layouts—Windows and Mac

Drag the top video panel in Stack layout or the side video panel in Side by side layout to show more or fewer thumbnail videos.

Maximize space for video or content—Windows and Mac

Collapse the thumbnail video panel entirely in Side by side and Stack layouts so you only see the main video screen or shared content.

An audio indicator to the left of the name label indicates whether the participant is muted or unmuted.

Name labels in thumbnail videos are now aligned to the lower left, have a more transparent background, and are reduced in size to avoid covering up the participant's face.

Start, pause, and stop recording your meeting, right from the Record button in your meeting controls.

End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) for meetings—VDI

You can schedule meetings from the Webex scheduler that are end-to-end encrypted. You can also start or join end-to-end encrypted meetings from Webex App.

An indicator shows in the meeting and in the Meeting info to let participants know, at a glance, that the meeting is encrypted.

Quickly start a meeting—Windows and Mac

It's now easier than ever to move from a conversation directly into a meeting. You can start a meeting directly from the app header and then invite people, they can easily join through your Personal Meeting Room link.

MailChimp bot—Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android

Webex users with a MailChimp account can set up the 1-way bot to receive notifications and account updates in the Webex App, and even conveniently launch their dashboard.

GitLab bot—Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android

Stay on top of new issues, comments, and GitLab requests by linking your account in the Webex App. Then select the notifications you want to receive from the 1-way bot.

Bonusly bot—Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android

Link your Bonusly account with the Webex App and receive a notification any time a new bonus is assigned.

Microsoft Teams Integration: Direct calls with channel members—Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android

We added the Webex call icon to channel messages. Select a channel member you want to start a direct call with from the list and without second guessing if you chose the right person.

Performance improvements for web-based content—Windows and Mac

We're improving your experience in the app by updating the control used to display web-based content to Microsoft Edge WebView2.

Share your screen or application on X11—Linux

When you're in a call, meeting, or you're just messaging in a space, you can show people what you're talking about by sharing your screen or application. Your Linux system must be using the X11 display protocol.

Messaging

Hide direct messages—Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone, iPad, and Android

Focus on your important spaces by hiding those less important ones. You can already hide spaces with groups and we're expanding that to include direct messages. Maybe you're in a space with a bot that updates you hourly, now you can hide that space. You won't receive notifications from the space, but you can still find it with the Hidden filter.

You can always unhide the space and the space is restored to your spaces list.

Calling


The following features apply to Unified CM, Webex Calling, and Calling hosted by a Service Provider:

Stop going undercover—Windows, Mac, and Linux

Prevent the share control bar from covering up content when you're sharing. Drag the bar to any edge of the screen to move it out of the way.

Preview of shared content—Linux

When you share content, you now see a preview of the content. You're able to make sure that you're sharing only what you want and that everyone can see it.

We also enhanced the Share content screen, making it easier for you to find the content that you want to share.

Pause and resume while sharing content—Linux

When you're sharing content but want to do something quickly on your computer without everyone watching, temporarily pause the share and then resume it when you're ready.


The following feature applies to Webex Calling and Calling hosted by a Service Provider:

Transfer a call right away—Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android

Now, you don't have to wait for the call to start ringing to complete a transfer. You can choose Transfer now and move on to other things. This is especially helpful if you deal with a lot of calls during your work day.

Get up close and personal—Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android, and Linux

If you're in the healthcare field, diagnosing and treating patients in a virtual setting just got easier. You can get a better view of someone during a call or meeting by controlling the angle of the patient's camera and even zooming in. Letting you focus on facial expressions and any physical ailments a patient may have so you can provide high quality care

Meetings

Webex for Government: Box integration with Webex App—Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android

Webex for Government users can now start or schedule a meeting or share content in a space, without leaving Box.

PagerDuty bot enhancements––Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android

This enhancement allows all members assigned to an incident to easily access the bot from the incident space. Users can manage relevant bot feedback, view the incident status, and even link the incident to other services.

Webex integration with HubSpot—Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android

Elevate your collaboration experience with your leads and customers. Easily schedule a Webex meeting with one or more of your HubSpot contacts and access meeting recordings and transcripts, all within HubSpot.
